Executive Director: Mike
Borden
Saved at an early age
with a clear calling to serve God, I
spent the first twenty years as a less
than dedicated Christian. God, always
faithful, used that time to mold and
shape me with a wide variety of skills
and experience. A wartime veteran (U.S.
Navy) 1970-1975, U. S. Forest Service
1975-1981 and a career in environmental
management and engineering 1982-1993 are
just a few of the opportunities God has
blessed me with. Since 1985 I have served
on several Christian Boards with both
evangelistic and educational ministries.
I have been in full time ministry for
the last 15 years serving first with CityTeam Ministries and now as the
Executive Director of Teen Challenge
Monterey Bay. I have been happily
married for over 35 years and have 3 children
and 3 grandchildren.

PMC Program Director:

I came into the program
as a student in February of 1998. I
could list numerous items of why I came
into the program, but they all add up to
the sin in my life. I came to know Jesus
Christ as my personal Savior during my
stay as a student. The Lord also led me
to stay on as a servant to Him, in the
capacity of a staff member, as I
continue to do His will and not my own.
I personally thank all of you who
continue to support our ministry and
students. God bless you all.

FWC Chaplain: Lynn
Pielenz
I was born in Kentucky,
but was raised a "Valley Girl" -
Sacramento Valley, that is. I was born
again through camping ministry in Jr.
High. At High School age I had my first
experience volunteering at a rescue
mission putting on Gospel services for
the needy. This led, years later, to
full time work with several California
Rescue Missions, the last being Pajaro
Rescue Mission where my husband and I
have served for over 21 years. Under the
Lord's direction, I now serve full time
with the Freedom Women's Center as
Chaplain, Educational Coordinator and
teacher. My cup runneth over!

Accounting Supervisor: Nancy Cahill
In 1996 I
asked Jesus to become my Lord and Savior.
In addition, I gave Him Lordship over my
life. Since that time, my walk with
the Lord has been a marathon run. The
Lord met me right where I was. He
showed me I was precious and a child of His.
The events and circumstances in our lives
are for a purpose – His purpose. It
has been my experience that people who use
drugs and alcohol are numbing the pain and
attempting to escape their feelings.
Jesus Christ has given me hope and healed
me. He has shown me how to share the
freedom that is in Christ with others – and
called me here to Teen Challenge Monterey
Bay.

Night Watchman: Russ
Nirenstein
When I was a young boy, I was born with
Cerebral Palsy. I wore leg braces on my legs
and I was in a wheelchair. I began using
drugs very early in life. After much
disappointment and failure in my life, i
knew I needed change. I gave my heart to the
Lord on Aug 15, 2000. My pastor told me
about Teen Challenge. I turned down 3
programs that would of taken me, but I
wanted to go to Teen Challenge, because I
believe that's where God wanted me to go.
God has not only healed me, but through His
grace and mercy, I am now talking with my
folks again. I have a closer relationship
with my 2 brothers. I am now singing on the
Teen Challenge Worship Team. God has done so
much healing in my life. He has healed my
back problem & from disease. I owe my life
to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

"For me to live now is
Christ and to die is gain." Phillipians
1:21. Those are the words that I now
try to live by. I came to Teen
Challenge with a broken relationship
and completely overtaken by sin and
addiction. I came to know Jesus here
at Teen Challenge and my life was completely
changed. Today I find myself
reconciled with my wife and children and now
serving at Teen Challenge. I find
great joy and fulfillment helping other men
and families achieve the same freedom I
found in Christ. Allow me to thank you for
your financial support in helping me "fight
the good fight."

Teen Challenge and blessed me to be a blessing by
placing me in a leadership position at the Pajaro

I have been blessed with the opportunity to stay and work with fellow brothers to help them find the Lord and experience their new life in Jesus Christ. After years of alcohol abuse and my father's death, I was spiritually and emotionally drained. My brother heard of a testimony in Redding, CA of a former graduate of Teen Challenge and he knew this would be the only program that could save my life. Through my resistance my family dropped me off and the Lord started doing his work. "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be traansformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2

PIC Program Director:
Cy Nunez
For many years I was
homeless and addicted to heroin in Salinas CA. I was
also a backslidden Christian living in misery
without any hope and totally powerless over the
state I was in. For 13 years I strayed away from
God. God now has me traveling the road of renewal
and restoration. By first restoring the lost
relationship I once had with Him He has enabled me,
through Teen Challenge, to get back the drive and
willingness to succeed in life. God is teaching me
every day how to better serve those who are caught
in a life of drug addiction, alcoholism, bondage and
ruin. It is my wish to spend my life working
with others who also find themselves lost and
without hope. To reach out to all who are “homeless”
and “helpless”.

| Occupational Therapy Director: Alex Flores I have been involved in churches ever since I was about 7 yrs old, but it
took moving to Las Vegas for 6 yrs. for me to see how God works through
people who surrender their lives over him. All through my 20's and 30's
I was in construction. I enjoyed remodeling/renovations people's homes
that were in need of a little (or a lot of) T.L.C. I found remodeling houses was rewarding work. However, in February 2011 I was presented with something even
more rewarding than any finished kitchen or bathroom. I was asked to
help renovated people's lives. I now work as the Work Therapy Director
at TCMB.

| Work Therapy Coordinator: Dennis Betz "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,"Whom shall I send?" and "Who will go for us?" and I said "Here am I. Send me!" Isaiah 6:8
The Lord called and I answered, and now my life is spent in the service of our God and his children. With the support and faith of my wife, Gail, and our family, the Lord lead us here to Teen Challenge. It is a blessing being able to serve and disciple these men and teach them new skills. It is an honor to be thrust into battle for the glory of the almighty God. I want nothing more then to be a Christ follower, a servant, and disciple, and to show men how to do the same.
Thank you for your prayers!

| FWC Business Manager: Kristina Neill I first felt God lead me to Teen Challenge in 2008. At the time I was attending Trinity Life Bible College in Sacramento, California. While serving at an orphanage in Mexico, God gave me a dream that birthed the vision of a ministry called Rock the Block California. After returning to the States three friends and I flew to New York to experience Rock the Block where it was originally founded by Jimmy Jack, the director of Teen Challenge Long Island. After staying at the Teen Challenge Woman’s Center in Long Island I knew that God had called me to the broken hearted. After graduating Bible College I moved to Santa Cruz to attend the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary through Bethany University. After a year of being a Resident Advisor for 27 ladies on campus it is now apparent that God had been working to prepare me for Teen Challenge Monterey Bay, Freedom Woman’s Center, where I serve as a Business Manager and live-in staff. I am so blessed to be a part of a program that “leaves the ninety-nine to find the one”.
